Biotechnology Research Center (C.R.Bt) is a Public Scientific and Technological Establishment (PSTE) created by Executive Decree No. 07-338 of 19 Chaoual 1428 corresponding to October 31, 2007 and placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS).

It is responsible for implementing scientific research and technological development programs in the field of Biotechnologies for the promotion of human and animal health, food safety, monitoring and environmental protection.

Currently, the C.R.Bt includes five Research Divisions dedicated to the sectors of Health, Agriculture, Agrifood, Environment and Bio-Industry and a research unit on medicinal plants.

C.R.Bt's research and development strategy is oriented towards technological mastery to form teams of experts in various fields of modern Biotechnology and Bio-engineering, namely the technologies known as NGS (Next Generation Sequencing), NGB (Next Generation Bioprinting), Proteomics, Bioinformatics, Genetic Engineering (Genome Editing); tools needed for research in Health, Agriculture and Environment.
