In order to promote people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between China and Africa, relate a good story of China-Africa friendship, and jointly build a community of common destiny between China and Africa, China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Center (CAICC) is going to launch “Bonds of Friendship Between China and Africa in My eyes” themed essay and short video collection. The selected works will be released on the information platform of CAICC, including but not limited to the website, WeChat official account, and Channels.
I. Collection Content
1. Essay
(1) There is no limit to the genre of the essay with less than 2000 words which can be written in Chinese, English or French. Pictures can be attached. It is recommended to write it in Chinese. The font format is recommended to use Song typeface, size 14, and 1.5 times line spacing.
(2) The essay should focus on the theme of “Bonds of Friendship Between China and Africa in My Eyes”, and the content should be positive, which can involve various fields of social life, and show economic development, scientific and technological achievements, natural scenery, urban construction, people-to-people exchanges, etc. between China and Africa.
2. Short Video
(1) The video should focus on the theme of “Bonds of Friendship Between China and Africa in My Eyes”, and contributors can produce short video from an angle and topic of their own choice. The video should be less than 5-minutes long and MP4 format is preferred. The aspect ratio is 16:9 or 9:16; the file size is not less than 30MB, not more than 400MB; the video image is clean and without corner marker, logo, or watermark. If the video is not in Chinese, bilingual subtitles including Chinese translation should be provided.
(2) Submissions should take real life as the creation material, take real people and events as the object of creation, and the ultimate aim is to reflect China-Africa friendship and spread positivity.
II. Requirements
1. The submitted works should be original, which can objectively and truly record and reflect what the contributors have seen and felt about China-Africa friendship. The contributors own the full intellectual property rights of their works, and they have not published them publicly or submitted them to other media or events before the collection.
2. Once the submission is received, it is deemed that CAICC is authorized to exercise the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use the submitted works, and CAICC is allowed to modify the contents of the submitted works on the premise of respecting the original intention of the contributors.
3. The collection is conducted online. Please download and fill in the application form, and send it to the CAICC’s mailbox together with the submitted works. All works will not be returned. Please keep your own copy.
4. Once the work is adopted, the contribution fee (RMB 300-500/piece) and the certificate will be given. At the end of each year, the excellent works of the year can be selected from all the adopted works based on the whole situation of submission. No registration fee will be charged for this activity.
5. CAICC will give priority to inviting contributors to participate in relevant China-Africa exchange activities.
6. The collection is a long-term activity.
